Free Comic Book Day @ the Library

Thanks to everybody that came to the Library on Saturday for Free Comic Book Day and a special thanks to the great store, Zone Comics in Homewood, who generously donated comics for the Library to give away. If you weren’t able to make it in on Saturday, don’t worry because you can still get free comics by checking out the Library’s collection of Graphic Novels on display during the month of May. There you can find works by legendary creators such Alan Moore, Charles Burns, Chris Ware, and Jaques Tardi. You can explore issues of social equality with books like Stuck Rubber Baby, Maus, and Persepolis. Or you can just get away from school work and have some fun with books like The Walking Dead and Young Avengers. With three weeks to read them and summer coming up how can you say no?

If you want to learn more about comics, continue to check our blog all month long as we will be putting up posts on Graphic Novels, how to read them, and some that we love. Coming up next week will be “Comics 101”!
