Did you know that the PSC Library has a great set of tools on our website to help with research for your specific classes? Come check out our subject guides if you have trouble finding articles, books, or websites for a research project in one of your classes. Click on the link above or go to the library homepage and click on “Subject Guides” to take a look.
Our Welcome Guide shows you everything you need to get started using the library’s resources, from searching the SWAN catalog to locate books and movies, to databases where you can find news, magazine, and scholarly articles.
If you’re taking COMM 101 or ENG 102 we have subject guides that recap everything covered during your class’s library instruction session. But we also have guides for general subject areas such as Art, Biology, and Nursing.
In addition to information about doing research in your subject area and links to to great resources, there’s also contact information for the librarian in charge of putting together that particular subject guide. We love to answer research questions, so don’t hesitate to contact us if you’re having trouble identifying good sources for a research paper.
If you prefer to use your smartphone or tablet to access the library’s resources, you can use our Mobile Library Apps guide to find out which databases have mobile apps that allow you to do research straight from your mobile device.
If we don’t have a guide for your subject, check back because new guides are being created all the time, or let us know in the comments which subjects you would like to see.
