Now that winter has finally arrived, what better time to stay in and cook up some great new dishes. The PSC Library can help you out with a wide array of cookbooks. One that I’ve enjoyed is Pig: King of the Southern Table by James Villas, which has over 300 recipes from all parts of the South using scrumptious sausage, delectable ribs, and mouth-watering bacon. Also included in the book are random quotes and facts about pork such as this one by Jean Voltz and Elaine J. Jarvell in The Country Ham Book: “On our parents’ and grandparents’ farms we saw hogs grow fat and meaty, and we understood why a child eating a huge meal or taking the largest piece of pie was called a pig.” If talking about all these tasty pork products is making you want to eat like a pig, then head over to the PSC Library to check this book out.
From Mexican to Chinese, vegan to gluten-free, barbeque to dessert, you can find delicious recipes in the cookbooks on display this month at the PSC Library.
