Men seldom make passes
At girls who wear glasses

Dorothy Parker was an American Writer known for her wit and wisecracks. I have always enjoyed her poetry and short stories in their own right, but I think I’m especially drawn to her writings because Dorothy was such a fascinating person. I love that, for her time, she lived a nontraditional life.

And, as you can see from one of my favorite poems, felt no need to apologize.

In youth, it was a way I had
To do my best to please.
And change, with every passing lad
To suit his theories.

But now I know the things I know
And do the things I do,
And if you do not like me so,
To hell, my love, with you.
