It’s that time of the year again — back to school! It’s time for new notebooks and folders, new pens and pencils, and resolutions for success in the new academic year. It is also the time to check out some of the new features in the Library.
“Come Weigh In” with the Student Chalkboard: Come check out the Prairie State College Library’s Blackboard Discussion, which is, well, literally on a blackboard. One thought provoking, soul-searching question will be “posted” each week, giving you seven days to weigh-in.
Find the best resources for your class with “Subject Guides”: Come check out our subject guides if you have trouble finding articles, books, or websites for a research project in one of your classes. Click on the link above or go to the library homepage and click on “Subject Guides” to take a look.
The Study Rooms are now capable of meeting your technological demands: Is your Study Group looking for somewhere to work on presentations and papers, or place to get ready for the next big test? Well then you may want to try out the new Group Technology Lounge found in the Library!
Scan and Fax with the Scanning Station or Print in Color with the new Color Printer: Scanning documents is 5 cents per page. Faxing is $1 per page. Printing in Color is 50 cents per page.
Students: Visit our book display in the library to find a book that can help you study more effectively, get better grades, write a research paper, choose a major, manage college life, and more! And don’t forget to stop by the reference desk, where a librarian can help you find the library resources you need for any assignment. Off-campus and have a question? E-mail us!
Faculty: Be sure to visit our Instruction Services webpage to learn how to schedule a library instruction session for your classes and tips about how you can help us help your students.
Good luck to all as you put your best foot forward to begin this year’s studies!
