November is National Novel Writing Month

National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is an annual challenge to write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days. NaNoWriMo is not about writing the perfect novel the first time around, but about encouraging authors who have always wanted to write, but have been scared by the length and time commitment.

Need some inspiration? Think you’re too young to write a book? You’re not! The books below were all written by authors before they were even 20 years old.

The Black Stallion by Walter Farley (age 18)
The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank (age 13-15)
The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton (age 16)
Eragon by Christopher Paolini (age 14)
